Dj Marimba: I think its common knowledge that you (Claude) were born in
Argentina, how do your origins have influenced on your songwriting in
the present day? Claude: It's true, I was born in Rosario, Argentina. When I was growing up, my grandfather played Tango in the house nearly all the time. Sometimes he sat there with his mate' in hand, listening. This is how I remember him. He used to say, "Hear what he said? He said without love there is no God left in him..." and that sort of thing. I thought it was boring. However, as I grow older it all comes back. I was paying more attention than I realized. It had an influence. Present day? I was in my hotel room in Ecuador and saw a special on Argentine Models. Not only were they beautiful, but they spoke like me! That was profound in a strange way. I felt connected. Dj Marimba: I've read somewhere that you will never sing "Everybody has a wish" live, if that is true, why is so? Claude: I like that song, so I don't know where that would have been said. ??? We would do it, if it was the right time, or the inclination hit. Not against it. Dj Marimba: What's your opinion about independent internet radio? How do you feel about being listened in places that you're not even aware they exist? Claude: I love that it exists. I love it more than normal radio. However, it is sad that you have to tune in via computer. Although it isn't that far away in the future when I get in my car and say, "Alice (my Car's name) I'm in a Joy Division meets Beck kinda mood. Find a station and do a mix, ok?" As far as listeners go... I exclude none. Dj Marimba: Would you like to do a cover of other artist/band? If so, which song and from which band/artist? Claude: Recently, none that I can think of. Live I love doing "All You Need is Love". I think of it as my song. Dj Marimba: What's your opinion about discrimination (social or racial)? Claude: Hate it. Color / Social blindness would give way to such an enriched human experience. So let's celebrate the differences. Dj Marimba: You as a band have friendship as one of your fundamental pillars, what is friendship for each one of you? Claude: Friendship is a way of sharing yourself. Knowing you are not alone. Dj Marimba: "Stress" that modern word, how each one of you fight it, what do you do? Claude: I don't fight it enough. It gets us all I think. Balance is the best, although my wife would say a good walk would do the trick. She's right of course. Dj Marimba: Beer, wine, vodka, tequila or pisco?? (if you do not know what pisco is, you should really came to Peru ) Claude: Capirina... Although... Wine. All good. Dj Marimba: What's the best thing a fan have said to you? Claude: How we helped them survive. I cannot even write it down without feeling affected by it. Dj Marimba: Is there any place on earth you won't do a live concert?, if so, why? Claude: I would go anywhere. Dj Marimba: Where and when was the wildest concert you have ever performed? Claude: Brazil, in front of 50,000 + people. And I fell off the stage, and nearly caused a riot. And there was Mexico with 10,000+ where security went away and the fans chased us. Dj Marimba: What's your greatest fear? Claude: I'm sitting here. I stare at the screen. I'm not sure... War? Famine? Demonic hordes coming up from the bowels of the earth and killing people? Oh wait. Our leaders are doing that already. Hmmm. Have to get back to you on this. |
